Una máquina laminadora de tres rodillos dobla continuamente láminas de metal utilizando un rodillo superior para ejercer presión hacia abajo y dos rodillos inferiores para proporcionar soporte.

Su función principal es laminar chapas metálicas para darles formas cilíndricas, curvas o cónicas. Es adecuada para tuberías, tanques y otras aplicaciones, y requiere girar para precurvar los extremos (laminado asimétrico de tres rodillos). El laminado asimétrico de tres rodillos elimina la necesidad de precurvar, pero es menos eficiente que el laminado de cuatro rodillos.
